Messerschmitt Me-262A-2a 'Schwalbe'
|
Ken Gilbert Columbus, OH | The first three pictures do not belong in this section. They are of the "b" varient trainer located at the DVHAA Museum in Willow Grove, PA. I know because I grew up near Willow Grove and have visited this aircraft on many occasions. 01/02/2008 @ 12:00 [ref: 19121] |
Arthur Pearce Winnipeg, MB | I don't know if anyone besides me has noticed this, but the name of this plane is not "Schawlbe" as noted. The proper name of this particular Me262 model is "SturmVogel", and according to my knowledge of the spoken German language, which is unfortunately lacking, this word means "Assult Bird". 03/07/2006 @ 21:00 [ref: 12726] |
Boyd Kidd Las Vegas, NV | Me-262A-2a is reflective of one type of Me-262 Bomber and it is known to have additional Ux numbers reflecting modifications to original airframe.
The second type of Bomber is an Me-262A-2a U2 Bomber with a Glass nose. Where the crew of the other Bomber is one (1)
the U2 has a Bombadier, that lays down, in front of the Pilot, in the nose during flight. 12/05/2004 @ 18:45 [ref: 8791] |
