North American T-28S 'Fennec'
|
Jim Best , MI | was assigned to U.S. Navy aviation Training Squadron Two at NAS Whiting Field in Milton, Fl. between 07/71-08/74. worked in flight /aviators equipment shop. maintained the oxygen system, inertia reels and aircrew survival systems on the Trojan. The most interesting thing about the T-28 is there is a footstep that can be pulled out to service the aircraft and was regularly used while talking to the aircrew in the front seat while the aircraft was operating.
The biggest flyover was a Whiting field birthday of 27 T-28's in formation, early 70's.
