Wayne L Steensma Sioux Falls, SD | I was crew chief on TF-102 from 1960-1968. SN 55-4048.(This SN not on list). It was assigned to the SD Air National Guard.
114 Fighter Interceptor Group It was placed in the so called bone yard at Davis-Monthan when we converted to the F-100's.
I had a couple of rides in it and enjoyed the experience. 09/13/2015 @ 12:41 [ref: 69245] |
Robert Rose , GA | Does anyone know anything about a TF-102 at Randolph AFB that had a Major General's name on it or by chance has a photo of it?? 12/01/2014 @ 14:57 [ref: 68798] |
R West , CA | This paint job is representative of the 32 FIS stationed at Camp New Amsterdam Holland. I was a crew chief of F-102's in this squadron 07/13/2014 @ 15:34 [ref: 68561] |
PAUL VARGA BRECKENRIDGE, TX | I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY OUT THERE HAD A TF-102 MAINTENANCE
MANUAL WE COULD BORROW OR COPY. WE NEED DIMENSIONAL AND LAYOUT DATA TO PLAN THE RESTORATION OF THE COCKPIT AND EXTERNALLY PAINT A TF-102 IN A MUSEUM. EMAIL PAUL@EZELLAVIATION.COM OR CALL 254-559-3051 05/05/2014 @ 07:50 [ref: 68468] |
Paul S. Williis Kalispell, MT | I was a crew chief on this aircraft in the early 1960's
I think that 2379 was the last TF built. 04/05/2011 @ 18:55 [ref: 37169] |
Michael Craig cambridge, OH | I was assigned to the 57th FIS in Iceland. Keflavik was the last active Air Force base to rely on the F-102 for their mainstay. I was assigned there from December 1972 to december 1973. We had one TF102 assigned to our squadron. As an Egress technician, it was a job pulling out those 2 side by side seats. The canopy was a heavy piece of hardware and once I remember pulling it - and what a job getting it aligned after a remove and replace. Most often however we just rotated it aft as far as it would go if there was major cockpit work to be done. Hey, if you served in Iceland, add additional comments about the time spent in the hangar and the blistering cold flight line. I still have the issued green muck-lucks with wool liners. I worked for Jack Butler, Jimmy Muller, Ed Ganczak, and a guy from Boston - ed McGrath. michaelcraig@roadrunner.com 01/14/2010 @ 14:14 [ref: 25575] |
Bill Bernhardt Duncan, OK | I performed maintenance on the F-102 at Eglin AFB, Fla. I was the first Airman to travel to Convair at San Diego to receive maintenance instruction on the F-102. After service I became a factory representaive on the F-102 assigned to the AFB to assist in training ground personnel on systems of the F-l02. My assignment with the La. Air Guard as a Tech Rep, gave me an opportunity to fly the right seat. One thing I noted was that standing on the flight line and waching the F-102 taking off, the noise with afterburner on was enormous and even created a vibration on the ground. Sitting in the right seat on take-off there was no noise in the cockpit. What an experience. 01/06/2010 @ 17:13 [ref: 25529] |
B Gordon Las Vegas, NV | I was looking on the "StrangeMilitary.com" site and spotted a picture of a TF102 tail number "0.41351". It was stated that the bird was at Chaunte AFB in 1987. So, if this helps in finding these birds, enjoy.

Walt Houghton , FL | Two TF-102s that have been saved 62-346 and 62-352 were both assigned to the same squadron on active duty. I worked on both aircraft with the 332nd FIS at Thule ,Greenland in 1960. 346 is at PA NG HQ at Indiantown Gap, PA. 352 seems to have moved from Kelly Field to Birmingham. 03/22/2008 @ 20:25 [ref: 20231] |
Marlena Vega Eureka, CA | Without a doubt, as of July 2007, serial number 5-62317 is located at Grissom Air Museum in Indiana. I added my photo, which clearly shows the number on the tail. 09/01/2007 @ 15:05 [ref: 17810] |
