FAYETTEVILLE ARKANSAS. SUNDAY JUNE 20-04. WE WERE TREATED TO A FANTASTIC SHOW OF ULTIMATE STRENGTH OF A JET MIG-17 AIRCRAFT AND IT'S PILOT. IT WAS WONDERFUL SEEING THIS PLANE FLY OVER US AT FULL SPEED HITTING THE AFTERBURNER. THE ROAR AND SMELL OF THE JET FUEL BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES. A BIT OF CARBONIZED FUEL FELL ON MY FACE. JUST LIKE THE OLD DAYS. I LIVED BY AIR BASES ALL MY LIFE AND MISSED IT. MY SON TOOK ME AND I REALLY ENJOYED SEEING THEM AGAIN. OF COURSE THE AIR BASES I LIVED BY WERE U.S. ON THE WEST COAST AND DURING WWII. HE EVEN DID US A ROLL AS WE WERE NOT IN THE STANDS BUT WAY OUT IN A FIELD WHERE OTHERS HAD GATHERED. IT WAS WONDERFUL THAT HE ACKNOWLEDGED US AND KNEW WE APPRECIATED THE PLANE AS HE DID. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT AMERICAN WE RESPECTED THE PLANE.

we just observed the Stoli Mig-17's perform at the edwards air force base airshow/open house. awesome planes in their bright red and white vodka colors. i tried to picture the terror these migs struck in the troops and pilots of the usa in korea...they are truly a magnificent flying machine . now if someone can just create a flight sim for the Fresco/Stolis, i would be in hog heaven. richard "geek-man" goecke
