Ted Brown Jackson, CA | I was a radio op in H&MS-17 in Iwakuni, Japan in the 70's. We flew the Marine Corp C-117 called the Super Goonies. A great old plane that just seemed to keep on flying. 10/23/2009 @ 13:30 [ref: 25206] |
mike los angeles, CA | I have seen a few C47's and dc3 's in my time.... I am 28 years old, and a filmmaker now... I remember seeing a dc3 or a c47, probably a dc3 on catalina island at the airfield they have there, it's called "the airport in the sky"... Amazing place, very windy up there. It does feel like you are in the sky because its atop a mountain. Now we are doing a film shoot, and we need the interior of a c 47 or a similar plane to film a few scenes inside of. there are two actors , the pilot and the navigator. Now we just need an airplane to film inside of. If all goes well, then we will need to film inside the plane again and again, because this is a recurring series of short films. We just need a few more planes which we are allowed to film inside, and then we will be all set. it does have to have light inside, for example a dark hangar with no light source would not work. if needed, we could bring in a few lights to plug in with extension cords, but its better to have some light entering the windows of the plane.
that's it ! good luck ! michaeljlogin1988@lycos.com 310-801-3460 looking forward to seeing what planes we have out there ! our crew will drive out to take a look.

Andrew Nielsen Fargo, ND | In response to Ted's comment about the Minnie H, it is currently on display at the Cass County Historical Society's historic village at Bonanzaville in West Fargo, ND as of 8/1/07. It is in good condition and visitors are able to walk inside the plane.
Here is their website for more information www.bonanzaville.com 08/01/2007 @ 06:55 [ref: 17406] |
Brian Jones Abingdon, YT | I have a slide of a USAF C-47 I took at Travis AFB Open House in 1968. The serial number is not 100% distinct. Possibilities are in the range 0-3XY7Z where X=3,5,8, Y=2,7 and Z=2,8 but 0-35772 is the most probable, I feel. The word WEATHER is on the fin.
I cant find 0-35772 or the other possibilities in Joe Baughers serial number web site. I am wondering if readers have any thoughts on this or suggestions of sources I could try. I would be most grateful for any help. 11/21/2006 @ 13:00 [ref: 14805] |

John B. , MO | Myself and a few other A&P aircraft mechanics have been attempting to begin restoring a C-47. The only serious problem, of course, is money. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get some sponsorship money rolling in?
