I was the crew chief on 287 from 1967 - 1969 at Suffolk Co. It was a great time ,great people. The people that were station at the base at that time were the best. The bridal path and the beach are unforgettable. The voodoo was a great plane. I really enjoyed being the CC on this F101 Voodoo.

I was stationed at SCAFB from 1960 - 1964. AFSC 43151C during that time I was assigned as crew chief on a number of different aircraft. Among those was 58297, this acft was the first on the base to reach 1000hrs flight time. In Jan 63 I was lucky enough to go for the 1000 hr flight with Lt. Col Culwell who was the 2nd FIS commander this the highpoint of my enlistment. Recently I met up with 2 others from that time, Jim Kaminski and Bert Poussard had a great time recalling our time there.

Buncamper!!! I'll be darned. Yes I was the CC of F-101F 58-276. You were my assistant at the time. Tried to teach, but not much time left in my enlistment.

I thought you were afraid of the acft. Turns out guess you were not. Congrads on the SSgt.

Finished college and retired as senior forging designer at Pratt and Whitney.. There is a site for SCAFB Vets. Contact me. 58-276 Survived our maintainence went to Texas ANG. Now it is in a museum in Georgia.

I was stationed at Suffolk Co. AFB during 67' 68. Nice base. Easy duty. I was a weapons 46250 crew chief. I served the MMS under Captain Bauer.
I have a few friends that I remember their names. Dennis Palumbo, John Lilly, John Cunningham, and Ed Slocke. I remember numerous faces without names.
I am looking for a photo of the 101 on a static display for a base open house in 68'. I was a crew chief explaning the weapons system and stores for a group of ROTC guys.
I found the picture of them and me one time and I'm looking for it again.
I have a lot of fond memories of this base.
The other aircraft I was on was the 104 Starfighter out of George AFB in Calif. I went to Udorn Tialand on that one in 66' and part of 67". What one is my favorite jet.
One of my planes that I photographed over there is now in a Colorado Air Museum. Same number....914.
