Although Republic built over 2,000 F-84F aircraft, General Motors built almost 600 of them too.

My Uncle Lt Donald Edward Bissland flew the F84 until the end of April,1956 when his fighter crashed in the WASH off Shepherds Grove , Suffolk UK. The plane nor the remains were ever found. My Father was their also.. Lt Alexander Charles Bissland. Anyone recall ever meeting my Uncle? He bought a 1956 MGA while in england in 1956. He only had it for a few weeks before the crash. I have the car now and am doing a complete frame off restore. Trying to gather as much information as I can to link My Uncle and my father to the car. Thanks Ron

The F-84F utilized compressed air as a source for emergency lowering of the landing gear.

As I recall, the F-84f was equipped with an MA-1 compass and Liquidometer fuel quantity system.

Hi, I was with the 366th TFW. Took over the F-84's from the ANG after the Berlin Crisis. Was stationed at Chaumont France. I ended up as the crew chief of A/C 52-6442. We came back to the States in 1963 to Holloman AFB. The F-84 turned out to be a sweet little aircraft.Sure would like to hear from anyone who with this great bunch of guys. O' ya don't forget the pink door. jknjdtoml@aol.com
