Bill Hart , OH | In 1957 I was transferred to the 601st CAMS (Consolidated Aircraft Maintence Squadron)at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. The 601st was later split into the 332nd FIS and the 539th FIS and I became part of the 332nd and also knew Tom Kingsbury. At England AFB I played basketball with Tom when we, along with Lt. Kevin Featherstone, went undefeated and won the Base Championship. Those were good times. Later, some brilliant person in D.C. decided that after roughly a year and a half the 332nd should now move to Thule. That was around the time the Air Force made the decision anyone re-enlisting no longer had the option of transferring to a base of their choice, but had to basically "replace" themselves. For that reason virtually none of the radar technicians reupped for Thule. We may have liked the Air Force, but not enough to go to Thule. 11/28/2014 @ 16:20 [ref: 68790] |
Jerry Grandlund Las Vegas, NV | The note from Susan Kingsbury brought back a flood of memories because her dad Tom was a very good friend of mine. We tipped a few brews in our time. 11/24/2014 @ 09:12 [ref: 68776] |
LUKE G. CONLEY III Elk Grove, CA | I was a radar technician on the MG-10 Air Weapons Control System, used on the F-102 Delta Dagger at McGuire AFB, NJ. I worked in the "mock-up" of the 332nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron. I was included in the select number of Airmen who were sent to Tyndall AFB, Florida to make the F-102 and the MG-10 Radar system perform as they were designed to do, in PROJECT FULL HOUSE. I have several pictures that were taken at Tyndall, with the crossed Falcon Missles imposed on a hand of cards, representing a "full house". That was the emblem of FULL HOUSE SQUADRON.
I am writing this to try to reach Susan Kingsbury, whose father Thomas Kingsbury served in the radar shop of the 332nd FIS with me. Thomas Kingsbury and I also played on the squadron's basketball team, comprised of airmen and pilots. The 332nd FIS was transferred to England AFB, LA in 1959.
I recently visited an F-102 on display at Castle AFB Museum, in Atwater, California. I have many fond memories of that proud bird and the radar system on which Tom and I worked. Please get this to Susan Kingsbury, who is looking for photograhs of the F-102 at Project FULL HOUSE.
Thank you

Tom Belbey , NJ | I was an F-102A crew chief (56-0969) with the 52nd FG AD, Suffolk County AFB, NY. I was assigned in Feb. 1958 to the 539th FIS for project "Full House" at Tyndale AFB, FL. on TDY. The 539th was from McGuire AFB, NJ. We flew down to Tyndale in an Air Force Reserve C-46, when we left in May the C-46 was still there AOCP. 02/09/2014 @ 08:10 [ref: 68339] |
Susan Kingsbury Las Vegas, NV | I was going through old photos with my dad, Thomas Kingsbury and we came across a photo from the initial flight of the F-102 in October, 1953 at Tyndall AFB. There are 8 people in the photo and the insignia says Full House Squadron. I am trying to locate a patch. Since Dad's memory is not what used to be, he doesn't many details. I know he was an instructor for radars. If anyone can offer more information, it will be greatly appreciated. I can send a copy of what is left of the photo, 01/27/2014 @ 14:40 [ref: 68325] |
Fred Remson Belleview,, FL | Was crewchief on F-102a #56-1327 when it arrived new at Mcguire AFB,NJ, in early 1957, then at England AFB, Alexandria,LA, and then at Thule AFB,Greenland. I went with it on an interagency exercise to Uplands AFB, Ottawa, Canada with the Royal Canadian Air Force, and was with the same Deuce at Project Full House at Tyndall in Feb, Mar and April of 1958 for an Evaluation and training exercise. The F-102 was a really great aircraft. After being her crew Chief for 4 years I finally had to leave her at Thule. Was a sad day. 12/22/2013 @ 11:24 [ref: 68245] |
